CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Jefferson County Schools (JCS) has thrived in partnership with an engaged and supportive community. That partnership has always been built on communication and trust. Now more than ever, it is critical to keep lines of communication open and ensure that there are venues for every voice to be heard. The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBOE) values the broad range of voices in our community and have expanded access to board meetings through added live broadcast, enhanced systems for the hearing impaired, and upgraded communication tools. As a next step, the JCBOE is excited to announce that starting on Monday, January 24, 2022, board of education meetings will be held in the auditorium at Washington High School. This new and larger venue can safely and efficiently support greater participation from the community. Regular meetings will still be held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, beginning at 7:00 PM. Citizens can still participate via Zoom if they choose, and meetings will continue to be recorded and posted on the JCS website.
