At Jefferson County Schools (JCS), keeping our students and staff safe is our top priority. Sometimes inclement weather forces us to adjust the school schedule, which could mean a closure, delay, or early dismissal. When these changes happen, we work to notify families as quickly and clearly as possible.
Every family should have a backup plan for early closings or delayed openings, especially if no one is home when students leave or return. When delays occur, please avoid sending students to school earlier than the announced opening time. For early dismissals, make a plan and be sure your student knows where to go.
