March 9, 2023: The boil water notice for Charles Town and Ranson has been lifted, and our systems have been flushed to ensure safe water for use on Friday, 3/10. Thank you to the staff in our JCS Maintenance Department for making sure staff and students in our impacted schools had water, and thank you for your patience while we work to ensure safe learning environments for all.

JCS will again provide bottled water for Washington High, Charles Town Middle, Wright Denny Intermediate, OLC, and Ranson Elementary Schools. We encourage anyone who can safely bring water from home to do so again. March 8, 2023: In response to the boil water notice issued for Charles Town and Ranson water customers, Jefferson County Schools will provide bottled water for Washington High School, Charles Town Middle School, Wright Denny Intermediate School, Ranson Elementary School, and the OLC. C.W. Shipley Elementary School celebrated the life of former student Logan Kenney during the first-ever Logan’s Lego Fair today. Their community raised more than $1,500 for the American Heart Association in memory of Logan, who passed away last year due to a heart condition. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped honor Logan's memory!✨❤️
All Jefferson County Schools will dismiss TWO HOUR EARLY on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, to give faculty senates time to meet. 🎶 Students from all four middle schools came together Friday for an ensemble performance at Jefferson High School. The JCS Middle School All-County Honor Choir included top vocal students across the district who spent the day rehearsing together for an ensemble performance that evening. The group also enjoyed performances by vocal ensembles from Jefferson and Washington High Schools. Bravo to all! 🎶

Feb 1, 2023: Due to unexpected snow overnight and the potential for freezing temperatures near dawn, all Jefferson County Schools will operate under a TWO-HOUR DELAY this morning. This extra time will give our partners at the Division of Highways the opportunity to treat impacted roads. Thank you for your patience as we put the safety of our students and staff first.

Jan 19, 2023: A second accident involving a Jefferson County School bus occurred this morning on Summit Point Road and Lloyd Road. Bus 33 was carrying students at the time. There are no injuries, but in an abundance of caution, everyone involved is being evaluated at the scene.
